E.G. Myers Drillers was founded in 1884 by Edward G. Myers. For more than four decades Mr. Myers, of Salunga, Pa was drilling artesian wells throughout the state of Pennsylvania and adjoining states. His business was successful since it's inception and eventually included his five sons. Born in Carroll County, Maryland in 1866 Mr. Myers received a practical education at Carroll Academy and moved to Steelton, Pa, as a young man. He worked in a boiler factory and learned the drilling trade, on a second job, from an elderly man. He later bought the man's business and moved to Salunga, Pa where he purchased the site for his company that is still used today. There he engaged in the water well drilling business and throughout the period of his active career he continued in that line of work.

Recognized as an expert in the field, he developed a strong reputation which became his most valuable business asset. As his sons grew to responsible age, he taught each of them the art at which he excelled. All of his sons became associated with him as the business evolved to E.G. Myers & Sons. Growth continued with 17 rigs in the field at one time and prosperity followed.  Soon the services of many modern drilling machines and several men besides the father and his five sons were involved. E.G. Myers & Sons saw drilling rigs expand from horse drawn rope churn drill to steam power and gasoline cable churn drills. Today diesel powered rotary drills are state of the art in the industry.  The operation extended too all parts of Pennsylvania and adjoining states. With the extensive geological knowledge of these states, Mr. Myers had acquired, his business thrived accordingly as his reputation grew. Valuable railroad contracts infused the company with assets necessary to continue rapid growth. Ralph L. Myers, with his brother and partner Edward J. Myers, ran the company for their father during this period.

Then in 1950, Ralph L. Myers, E.G. Myers fourth son, took on the leadership of the company with his three sons as partners as it became Ralph L. Myers & sons. The third generation of Myers drillers was beginning to make its mark. The successful growth continued, including the purchase of the first rotary drill rig. As state certified water well drillers this enabled Myers to modernize operations considerably. As the family grew, younger members became involved. Ralph L. Myers & sons became incorporated as Myers Bros. in  1965 under the leadership of Ralph L. Myers' three sons, Charles L., Paul L. & Edward G. Myers. All were officers of the company.

Today, the company continues to prosper as members of the fourth generation lead the operations. Myers Bros. Inc. boasts some of the most sophisticated drilling equipment available in the industry. Their expertise includes quarry drilling, environmental monitoring, pump work and water well drilling. The treasured history of this family speaks well for the experience and integrity they bring to the day to day operation of modern residential and commercial drilling.
